Oh Behave, Akon Radio

There are certain moments in your life where you remember where you were the exact moment it happened. Derek Jeter’s walkoff hit in his final game, the Patriots massive comeback, your first beer, and so on.  Well, yesterday I experienced something historic. Some might say legendary even.

I’m one of the few people who still rely on Pandora for all of their music endeavors.  It’s free, so that’s basically all I need to hear. Most people complain about it because you run out of skips quickly and the songs aren’t necessarily the ones you want to listen to.

Not Akon Radio.  I’ve been listening to Akon Radio during workouts/runs for a while now for the sole fact that it consistently BUMPS throwbacks.  Before you know it, you’re back in 2007 jamming with Jay Sean and T-Pain and you forget you’re working out.

On Sunday morning, I was working out at my local high school baseball field, training for the upcoming season, and I experienced possibly the greatest succession of throwbacks in a row that any human has ever experienced. So great that I had to share with you all.

Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin’)

You hear this song coming on, anytime…anywhere…you listen to it.  If your future spouse even feels to urge to change this song, you NEED to dump him or her because that person clearly doesn’t enjoy happiness and probably hates puppies and chocolate.

Smack That

AKON!!!! KONVICT!!!! I get goosebumps with this song.

For some reason, Flo Rida felt the need to change this song and add a verse into it, but his thirty seconds of rambling definitely does not hurt the overall song.

In Da Club

This song always reminds me of a group of white kids who go to a private school blasting this in their BMW convertible.  I’d bet all the money this site has made ($0) that they only club they’ve been to is a country club.

It’s not perfectly fitting into the theme of all the songs, but I think this is very low key a great song.

And then we went right back to middle school:

Remember when you were at your 8th grade dance and when the “Down, down, down, down, down” part came on your squad would crouch down lower and lower towards the floor? Gr8 timez.

I thought the streak ended here, but it turns out this is a major jam and the good times kept going:

The Way I Are

the way

All the Above

I really have no clue who Maino is, but this song is flames.

Viva La Vida

Quite possibly the best Coldplay song made, and one hell of a way to end the workout.
